Privacy Policy

Recall (“the app”) records meetings and turns them into notes and tasks. This policy explains what we collect, how your recording is handled, and the choices you have. We built Recall to keep your recordings out of storage — they are deleted as soon as your notes are made.
Information we collect
- Account information. To use Recall you sign in. If you use Sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. If you use email sign-in, we store your email address. This identifies your account and links your notes to you.
- Your recordings. When you record a meeting, the audio is uploaded to our secure cloud only to generate your notes (see below).
- Your notes. The summary, action items, speakers and related text generated from a recording are stored in your account so you can open them later.
- Basic diagnostic data. Limited, non-advertising technical information to keep the service reliable.
How your recording is handled — and deleted
Your audio is uploaded to Google Cloud and processed by AI — Google Gemini (via Vertex AI), and in some cases Anthropic Claude — to produce your summary and tasks. As soon as your notes are generated, the audio recording is permanently deleted. We do not keep your audio, and your recordings are not used to train AI models.
Where your notes are stored
Your account and the notes generated from your meetings are stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) on Google’s secure infrastructure. Your notes are private to your account.
Third-party services
We use the following providers strictly to run the service; they process your data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud — sign-in, database and temporary audio processing (privacy).
- Google Gemini (Vertex AI) — transcribes and understands your recording to produce notes.
- Anthropic (Claude) — in some cases, extracts tasks from the transcript (privacy).
- Razorpay — processes subscription payments if you subscribe (privacy). We never see or store your full payment details.
We do not sell your data, we show no ads, and we do not use advertising or tracking SDKs.
Data retention and deletion
Your audio is deleted within about 2 minutes of your notes being generated (a brief window so you can re-do the notes first). Your notes are kept until you delete them or delete your account. You can request deletion of your account and all your notes at any time — see Delete your data.
Permissions
Recall uses the microphone to record when you tap record, and notifications to show that a recording is in progress (so it can keep recording with the screen off). It does not access your contacts, location or camera.
Children
Recall is intended for working professionals and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new “Last updated” date.
