Water Reminder (“the app”) is designed to respect your privacy. This policy explains how the app handles your information.
Information we collect
The app has no accounts and never asks for personal details such as your name, email or phone number. To understand how the app is used and to improve it, we collect anonymous usage and diagnostic data — see “Analytics” below.
Where your data is stored
Water Reminder stores your water logs and settings (goal, cup size and reminder schedule) only on your own device. This content never leaves your phone. If you uninstall the app, it is removed with it.
Analytics
The app uses Mixpanel, a third-party analytics service, to collect anonymous usage information — such as which features are used, in-app events, your app settings, the app version, and general device/app information. This helps us fix issues and improve the app.
This data is not used to identify you personally, and we do not collect the content you enter into the app (for example your water logs, cash entries, attendance records or calculations).
You can turn analytics off at any time in the app’s Settings (“Share anonymous usage data”). Mixpanel processes this data on our behalf — see the Mixpanel privacy policy.
Payments and subscription
Water Reminder is a paid subscription. Payments are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited, our third-party payment provider. When you subscribe, the payment details you enter (such as your card or UPI details) are collected and processed by Razorpay — we never see or store your full payment credentials. To manage your subscription and confirm whether it is active, the app sends a random, non-personal reference for your installation to our server. This reference is not linked to your name, and your in-app content — your water logs and settings (goal, cup size and reminder schedule) — is never sent with it.
Permissions
The app requests the notifications permission for one purpose only: to show you local reminders to drink water. These reminders are scheduled entirely on your device.
The app connects to the internet to send anonymous analytics (which you can disable) and to process your subscription. Your day-to-day logging works on your device.
Third-party services
The app uses Mixpanel for anonymous analytics, and Razorpay to process subscription payments, both as described above. It uses no advertising networks and no other tracking services.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Deleting your data
See Delete your data for step-by-step instructions, and use the Settings toggle to stop analytics collection.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new “Last updated” date.
