Privacy Policy
App: Gita Daily · Developer: Hustling Madrasi · Last updated: 2 August 2026
Gita Daily (“the app”) is built to respect your privacy. This policy explains what information the app handles and why.
Information we collect
To create your account and manage your subscription, we collect:
- Your phone number — used to sign you in and as your account identity, so your subscription can be restored when you reinstall the app or switch devices.
- Subscription status — whether your trial or subscription is active, and the related payment reference from our payment provider.
- An account identifier — a random user id created for your account.
We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, photos, or any advertising identifiers.
Analytics and usage data
To understand how the app is used and to improve it, we collect anonymous usage and performance data using Mixpanel and Google Firebase Analytics. This includes events such as opening the app, changing the reading language, saving or sharing a verse, and subscription milestones (for example starting the trial), together with your app version and general device/app information and a random analytics identifier.
This analytics data is tied only to your random account identifier — we do not send your name, phone number, or email to these services. It is used to measure features and reliability, not to advertise to you. You can turn this off at any time in the app under Account → “Share anonymous usage data”; when it is off, no analytics events are sent. Mixpanel and Google process this data as our service providers (see the Mixpanel and Firebase privacy policies).
Content you create stays on your device
The verses you save/bookmark, your reading activity and your daily streak are stored only on your own device. This content is not uploaded to us. If you uninstall the app, it is removed with it.
Phone verification & where account data is stored
We verify your phone number using Firebase Authentication, a service provided by Google. Your phone number, account identifier and subscription status are stored securely on Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure that we operate. Data is encrypted in transit.
Payments and subscription
Gita Daily is a paid subscription. Payments are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited, our third-party payment provider. When you subscribe, the payment details you enter (such as your card or UPI details) are collected and processed by Razorpay — we never see or store your full payment credentials. See the Razorpay privacy policy.
Advertising and measurement
We run ads on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to help new people discover Gita Daily. To measure whether those ads work, the app uses the Meta (Facebook) SDK to send Meta a small number of conversion events — that you installed the app, completed sign-in, and started the trial — along with your device's advertising identifier. This data is shared with Meta and may be used by Meta to measure and improve ad delivery, in line with Meta's own policies. We do not send Meta your name, phone number, or email, and Gita Daily shows no ads inside the app. You can turn this off at any time with the same Account → “Share anonymous usage data” switch; when it is off, no Meta events are sent. You can also limit ad tracking system-wide in your Android settings. See the Meta privacy policy.
Permissions
The app connects to the internet to verify your phone number, check your subscription, and let you share verse cards. It does not request access to your contacts, location, camera or photos. Sharing a verse card creates an image and hands it to the app you choose (for example WhatsApp) through Android's standard share sheet.
Third-party services
The app uses Firebase Authentication (Google) to verify your phone number, Razorpay to process subscription payments, Mixpanel and Google Firebase Analytics for anonymous usage analytics, and the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure our ads, all as described above. It shows no ads inside the app and uses no in-app advertising networks.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and the data we hold at any time — see Delete your data for step-by-step instructions.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
